When the Quiet Is Loud: Honoring Charlie Kirk and Standing Firm in Christ

Charlie Kirk Turning Point USA Poster

The world fell silent… not because it was silenced but because a soldier of the Kingdom fell. Just like in Acts when Stephen was stoned, a voice for truth was cut down.

On September 10th, 2025, I woke up to the news that Charlie Kirk had been assassinated. I couldn’t believe it, and I didn’t want to believe it. I replied to the text message my father sent me with, “No way no way NO WAY.” But deep in my heart I knew and felt my fallen brother in Christ.

“But Lara, you’re Filipino, what do you care about Charlie and his bigot, racist, ideologies and misogynistic views?”

We are called to pray for kings and all in authority (1 Tim. 2:1–2), not just in our homeland.

Yes. I am NOT American, but that does not mean I don’t care for American politics or even world news.
Everything that happens in the world and in America directly affects us because the Philippines is an ally of America in the Pacific. So I do care about the greatest country that was ever built.
And because I care about that, I care about the state of their nation just as much as mine.

So where does Charlie come in?

I agree with most, if not ALL of his opinions. As a person who is saved by Jesus Christ through His death and resurrection, Charlie and I, and I’m sure a lot of other Bible believers, share the same values (but I can’t really speak for everyone).

Here are some of his popular (or in this case unpopular) viewpoints, the Biblical teachings that support them, and my thoughts:

Charlie’s Viewpoints and The Word of God

On Life and Abortion

Charlie stood boldly for the unborn, even when the world mocked him for it.

Psalm 139:13–14 “For You formed my inward parts; You knitted me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

Jeremiah 1:5 “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart.”

I believe life begins at conception. Children are a blessing. Jesus said, “Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them, for of such is the kingdom of heaven” (Matthew 19:14). To dismiss a child as just a “clump of cells” is to strip away the reverence of life that God Himself gives. That is not just tissue, that is a soul, a human made in the image of God, with His breath in them. Everyone deserves the chance to live.

On Marriage and Gender

Charlie believed God created male and female, and that marriage is between a man and a woman. That is not bigotry, that is Bible.

Genesis 1:27 “So God created mankind in His own image, in the image of God He created them, male and female He created them.”

Matthew 19:4–5 Jesus Himself confirmed this design.

I know how destructive gender confusion can be because I once fell into it myself. In college, I identified as bi-curious and bisexual, living in sin. At first it felt good, but deep down there was always that tug in my heart telling me it was wrong. Romans 2 says our conscience is God’s internal revelation to man. When we rebel against that, morality collapses, and society begins to rot.

God’s design is perfect. Man and woman complement one another by His plan. And Scripture never said women cannot pursue work. Proverbs 31 shows the virtuous woman multiplying her household’s wealth. The partnership of man and woman is beautiful, and if children were taught God’s design, there would be less heartbreak, confusion, and lost identity.

On Freedom of Speech and Truth-Telling

Charlie fought for the right to speak truth in a world drowning in lies.

Ephesians 4:15 “Speak the truth in love.”

Proverbs 31:8–9 “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute.”

The world always finds biblical truth offensive because it shines a light on sin. That is why cancel culture thrives. People hide behind screens, spewing vile words, trying to shame Christians into silence.

But Charlie did not hide. He stepped into campuses and public spaces and boldly declared God’s Word face to face. That kind of boldness was intimidating to me at first, but in the end it inspired me. He showed me that when truth is at stake, silence is not an option.

On Loving His Country

Charlie loved America. Some call that nationalism, but Scripture calls us to pray for nations and leaders.

1 Timothy 2:1–2 “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people, for kings and all those in authority.”

I may be Filipino, but what happens in America affects the world. The Philippines is America’s ally in the Pacific, and globalization ties us together. Sadly, Filipinos adopt Western culture quickly, including toxic woke ideologies that clash with our conservative values. That is why I want America to remain strong and Christian, not just for itself but as a beacon for other nations.

On Israel

Charlie openly supported Israel because God’s Word is clear.

Genesis 12:3 “I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse.”

Psalm 122:6 “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.”

Israel is God’s chosen nation. The news is full of lies about them, twisting the truth to paint them as aggressors. It is demonic. Of course Israel defends itself when attacked, that is survival. War always costs lives, but coming against Israel means coming against God’s covenant.

On Creation and God’s Design

Charlie rejected the lies of evolution because he knew the Creator.

Romans 1:20 “For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.”

The world laughs at creationism because the world is fallen. But Christians are little pockets of heaven on earth, testifying of a Creator until Christ comes back to reclaim it all. That is why we must share Christ boldly, so the light multiplies and drives back the darkness.

A Torch to Carry

Charlie Kirk was hated because he refused to bow down to culture. He stood where the Bible stands. And if that makes him unpopular in the eyes of the world, then so be it. Jesus told us this would happen:

John 15:18 “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated Me first.”

Charlie’s death should not silence us, it should ignite us. The enemy thinks that by striking down one voice, the truth will fall quiet. But the gospel cannot be chained (2 Timothy 2:9). When Stephen was stoned, Saul was watching. And from Saul, God raised up Paul, the greatest missionary the world has ever seen.

So I believe even in Charlie’s death, seeds are being planted. Seeds of courage. Seeds of conviction. Seeds of revival.

This is not the time to shrink back. This is not the time to stay silent for fear of being labeled, canceled, or hated. “Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted” (2 Timothy 3:12).

We are called to be watchmen on the wall (Ezekiel 33:6). To be salt and light (Matthew 5:13–16). To occupy until He comes (Luke 19:13).

So I will not be silent anymore. And neither should you.

Charlie may have fallen, but the fight of faith continues. The torch is in our hands now. Let us carry it, not for politics, not for popularity, but for the glory of King Jesus.
